Job description: ISL is actively seeking to recruit a highly experienced commercial and procurement manager for a fast evolving Financial Services organisation in the Sussex area.

Key Purpose of the role:

To make a real and lasting impact on the procurement strategy and the way the organisation does its business both internally and externally. Providing procurement and contractual leadership with the aim of realising substantial cost savings, maximising value for money, minimising commercial risk and ensuring the provision of excellent procurement for a range of complex services which support the business.

Key Accountabilities

*To provide strategic procurement advice, operational procurement and management of contracts

*Deliver efficiencies and financial savings. Analyse existing contracts, identify immediate savings and re-negotiate where necessary with the support of the management team

*Lead complex supplier negotiations that support the procurement/business strategy and cost reduction objectives

*Support the business with input to its international acquisition strategy and procurement expertise with international contracts and services, such as off-shoring

*Build and develop long term relationships with internal stakeholders and strategic partnerships with external suppliers to ensure common goals are met and benefits delivered

*Review existing purchasing processes, identify, recommend and implement best practice


Salary is expected to be in the region of £60,000 - £80,000 exec benefits, but this might be negotiable for the right candidate. To apply please send your CV
Qualifications: Candidates will be CIPS qualified, experienced procurement managers with significant experience of delivering highly successful cost reduction programmes across a range of categories including IT and off-shoring. International experience is highly desirable.

Candidates will have in-depth technical knowledge and understanding across of procurement strategy, tendering, negotiation, supplier management and e-procurement and must have experience of taking responsibility for driving change and innovation working closely with stakeholders to deliver real value. Experience of starting up a procurement function would be extremely useful.

This is an exciting greenfield opportunity to establish a dynamic and commercial "best practice" procurement function, incorporating e-procurement where possible. Backed by major investment, with a strategy based on international acquisition, the Procurement Manager must be comfortable operating in a high profile role where delivery of the cost savings is essential to business success.
