Coupa Cabana

Another vendor blog, and yet not just another vendor blog.  Procurement professionals with a sense of adventure (and a sense of humor) will appreciate "Coupa Sam" and the "Spend Samurai'" as they tackle spend managment challenges faced by executives. The Coupa Cabana addresses both spend and expense management topics that tie directly to the core capabilities of their solution as well as broader procurement topics.  Contributions to the blog include Coupa team members as well as guest bloggers. 

eSourcing Forum

eSourcing Forum is sponsored and administered by David Bush at Iasta, a software and services provider of supply management solutions.  eSourcing forum brings together some original posts with excerpts of current postings from 20+ other procurement blogs and news sources, and provides links back to the originating site for the remainder of the content.  The site also has a list of free magazines and trade publications that can be accessed once the user completes and submits an application form.

Green Supply Chain

Green Supply Chain is sponsored by Bellwether Services, a management consulting firm specializing in strategy, organization, green supply chain management, sourcing, and operations.  The blog brings together content and references to environmentally conscious articles on CO2 emission, greening efforts made by large corporate players, and news stories about green initiatives and legislation advanced by world governments.  

The Optimum

The Optimum is sponsored by Emptoris , a software provider for strategic supply management and enterprise contract management.  New as of January 2010, the blog is written by Kevin Potts, Emptoris' VP of  Product Management and Marketing.  The blog addresses ideas, challenges and solutions brought to light by the company's professionals and clients. 

Procurement Insights

Procurement Insights is written by Jon W. Hansen, and combines a traditional blog format with an online talk radio component that covers a number of professional and procurement topics.  The Procurement Insights blog is updated daily, and there is a talk radio program every Thursday at 12:30pm E.S.T called PI Window on Business .  In addition, a resource library is available to subscribers for a nominal annual fee.  The library contains white papers and corresponding reference material.  Jon is a leader in the procurement area and a resource that will prove valuable to you in your professional growth.

Procurement Leaders

Procurement Leaders is sponsored by The Procurement Leaders Executive Network, and contributed to by a number of authors including Network editorial director David Rae, Network news editor Richard Edwards and guest author Tim Minahan of Ariba. There are multiple new postings to the blog each week.  The Network also publishes a semi-monthly magazine available on a subscription basis and through subscriber login online.

Rosslyn Analytics

Rosslyn Analytics, a spend analysis software provider using cloud computing technology and based in the UK hosts a blog that is broken down into innovation, marketing and legal topics, with an author dedicated to each.  If you are looking for a "take no prisoners" approach to the benefits of cloud computing and reflections on the traditional way of providing spend analytics, this is the blog for you.

Sourcing Innovation

Sourcing Innovation has been authored and edited by Michael Lamoureux and a list of regular guest contributors since June 2006.  Lamoreux’s background combines computer science, sourcing, supply chain and e-commerce, and therefore the blog often focuses on specific details of technology best practices.  Posts are made daily and often include links to and commentary on articles found in major professional publications – both procurement focused and general industry/business.

Spend Matters

Spend Matters is edited by Jason Busch, founder and managing director of a boutique advisory firm with additional background in marketing strategy, spend management software and strategy/technology consulting.  Spend Matters is updated with at least one post daily, often more than one in reaction to current events.  Spend matters covers topics from vendors to sourcing international markets, and provides commentary on and reactions to articles and other media published on procurement, sourcing, contract management, spend analysis and visibility, category management, low cost country sourcing, supply chain, and lean operations. 

The Supply Chain Notebook

The Supply Chain Notebook, written by vendor Supplier Evaluations covers topics related to global sourcing and outsourcing.  Although many of their articles are global, working with Chinese suppliers has received the most coverage in recent posts.  Among other posters, many entries are from owner and co-founder Valery Zelixon.  The blog is updated several times per week.

Supply Chain Matters

Supply Chain Matters is authored by Bob Ferrari , the managing director of the supply chain consulting arm of The Ferrari Research and Consulting Group.  He deliberately focuses the blog in three areas: the impact of the global economy, risk mitigation/business intelligence and sustainability or "green supply chain".

Supply Excellence

Supply Excellence is sponsored by Ariba and is edited by Jim Fogarty.  The blog is focused specifically on supply management topics and strategies.  Contributing authors include Ariba team members from a number of arenas including marketing, services management, and category management.  Posts are updated at least daily and cover topics such as managing supply risk, low cost country sourcing and supply market dynamics.

Trading Partners

Trading Partners’ blog was created as part of their brand re-launch in January 2010.  While their technology focus is auctions, the topics covered by the blog so far are diverse and include posts from multiple different contributors.
