(9/5.2011) BMP's Event Picks of the Week

You can view all upcoming events on our site in a weekly listing or on an ongoing basis in our monthly calendar. Events

We visit over forty sources to come up with the listing so you can check one central place to see who is hosting webinars, conferences, and more.  We don’t help run the events or have any affiliation with the hosts. We see this as a valuable service we can offer to you. One other helpful thing to mention is that if you come to our calendar and click on an event that you are interested in attending, we’ve posted all of the registration links so you can sign up for the event directly from our site.

If you'd prefer to LISTEN to an update, we also do a weekly Blog Talk Radio update on Jon Hansen's PI Window on Business program. Click here to listen to the latest episode. Please note that each Monday the update plays at 10pm EST. We will update the page with the newest episode is available.

I’ve picked two events to attend this week, both of which have the possibility of being the one we will cover by sharing our detailed notes with you on Friday.

On Tuesday, Sourcing Interests Group is hosting a webinar titled “Vendor Management Organization Models and a Guide to Structuring the Best VMO for Your Organization”.  Part of the appeal of this topic is that they are covering more than one model. So if you are looking to start a vendor management program, this will help you decide which model might work best in your organization. If you already have a VMO and it isn’t accomplishing what you had hoped, learning about alternate models may give you some new ideas. If you are interested in this event, but are not a member of SIG, remember to attend the live event because they don’t make archived recordings available to the public.

On Thursday, Gartner is hosting a webinar titled “Segmenting Your Supply Chain to Enable Innovation and Profitability”. While the description sounds promising, it is sometimes hard to predict how literally they are using the label supply chain. Do they mean supply chain generally as in managing risk and sources or are they specifically going to address transportation concerns. I’ll let you know once I’ve attended.

The last date for the week I’d like to call your attention to is Friday. With the fall conferences approaching fast, early bird registration dates are starting to hit. IACCM, ISM, and CFO rising all have discounts that expire this Friday, so look at our calendar for the specifics.
