This week's recommended events: January 30 - February 3

My first pick of the week is being run by ISM on Tuesday, “Manage Supplier Risk: Be Proactive Using Diverse Market Intelligence.” We talk a lot about risk these days, but most of the focus is on identifying or assessing risk. This event is more of a “how-to” with case studies, examples of market data usage, and potential sources of information. The listed speakers are from Aberdeen and Reed Elsevier, so we can expect to learn about how LexisNexis is a solution for spend management’s market intel needs, but hopefully we get some other examples as well.

Friday’s Procurement Leaders webcast with Kraft Foods is my second pick of the week. The primary focus of the event is how Kraft took their procurement activity from high spend leakage to high value creation. But while they were implementing a new SAP integrated eprocurement solution, they also managed to improve stakeholder relations and their general reputation within the organization. Balancing effectiveness and customer service is a challenge many of us face.
