Recommended Procurement Webinars for Jan 31 – Feb 3: Recognizing Supplier Contributions to Value

This week’s webinar schedule is light compared to last week, but it is also something of an unofficial supplier celebration. Both events look at the positive opportunities procurement has at hand if we can strike the right balance of competition and collaboration with the supply base. Click on the title of each webinar below to view the full description and register.

Supplier-Centric Sourcing (ISM, Zycus)

January 31st 11:30am ET

Although it is becoming increasingly common to think of supply management from an ecosystem point of view rather than the traditional linear process flows, the role of suppliers has not changed much – especially during strategic sourcing. In this event, Richard Waugh, VP of Corporate Development at Zycus, will discuss the many ways we can allow suppliers to affect strategic sourcing for the better. Opportunities include: allowing for supplier differentiation, selecting KPIs that accurately represent each supplier’s performance, and effectively leveraging technology to support collaboration.

Leveraging Supplier Innovation (BravoSolution)

January 31st 2:00pm ET

** Note: this event is also being held at 12:00 GMT for the EMEA audience

As stated in the description for this event, “Most innovation is driven today by small to medium sized organizations.” In order to leverage that potential for innovation, procurement needs to start by identifying good opportunities and making sure they are not blocked by standardization – but that is just the beginning in the long journey to innovative results. In this webinar, Dr. Rob Handfield, Executive Director of the Supply Chain Resource Co-Operative, Bank of America University Distinguished Professor of Supply Chain Management, and co-author of The Procurement Value Proposition, will talk about the contract structures that can advance common approaches as well as the intellectual property considerations that may arise with jointly created solutions.
