With the Memorial Day holiday on Monday in the US, this is typically a quiet week. I’m actually surprised at how many events are going on… There are already 10 webinars on the calendar for June and I added the first two to July this week, so maybe we’ll have an active summer this year!

If you are planning your webinar schedule beyond this week, I recommend ‘Socially Responsible Intelligent Automation (AI) thru AI-Payables’ from SIG and Global Sourcing Optimization Services (GSOS) on June 20th at 1pm ET.

BTW: If you haven’t already, sign up for our mailing list to be sure you get my weekly recommendations in your Inbox each Monday.

Transform Uncertainty in International Trade into Creating Shared Value in Your Supply Chain (SAPAriba)

May 29th, 5am ET (10am BST)

If global supply chains weren’t already enough of a challenge to manage, geopolitics are only making things harder. The question of tariffs between the US and China looms large on the world stage (despite the fact that tariffs were recently rolled back between the US and China and Mexico), and Friday morning we woke to the news that UK Prime Minister Theresa May would resign effective June 7 – without putting a final Brexit agreement in place between the UK and the EU. If the SAP Ariba team can turn all of this uncertainty into “shared value”, more power to them!

Executing a Successful Procurement Transformation (Ivalua, Forrester Research)

May 29th, 10am ET

At the Ivalua NOW event in Paris, Forrester Research’s Duncan Jones created quite a stir with new data about procurement’s maturity perception problem. You can read more here, but the long and short of it is that procurement thinks we are a lot more mature than we actually are. That perception affects our sourcing strategies, talent management decisions and interactions with stakeholders and suppliers. If you (like me) weren’t lucky enough to hear Jones from the banks of the Seine, this webinar is another chance to hear more about this research into procurement’s maturity reality.
