Featuring McKinsey Partner Ketan Shah, a co-author of the article “Strengthening Health Care’s Supply Chain: A Five-Step Plan”

The health care supply chain is complex, fragmented, and incomplete. Its weaknesses put patients at risk, cost billions, and lessen the health care sector's ability to take on the challenges it faces. And supply chains are under increasing scrutiny and pressure, as the entire sector is focused on controlling costs, improving outcomes, and complying with increasing regulation.

The good news, according to McKinsey & Company, is that models exist to strengthen and improve the health care supply chain. Those in health care can learn from other industries, like consumer goods, and can develop specific capabilities that have a dramatic impact on performanceand on the bottom line.

On November 9, in a live, interactive Harvard Business Review webinar, McKinsey & Company's Ketan Shah will share insights from McKinsey's research on the pressures that health care supply chains face, the problems with the current supply chain model, the five critical supply chain capabilities that companies need to develop, and the strategic advantages of superior supply chain performance. Shah will draw from real-world examples, share extensive data, and provide an actionable plan.
